The United States Of America is one of the major countries of the North American continent. It consists of 50 states, 48 of which are contiguously joined together on the continent; Alaska is located on the northwest corner of the continent, while Hawaii is located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It also contains four colonies: Puerto Rico, Guam, Midway, and the Virgin Islands. It is a democratic country that is run by an elected President who operates within no more than 2 terms of 4 years each.
During the formation of the Global Community, when the United States became part of the United North American States, Gerald Fitzhugh was that nation's President, who resented how Nicolae Carpathia gained control over the whole world. After the Militia led by Fitzhugh failed to overthrow Carpathia, the GC destroyed Washington, D.C. and launched attacks on New York City, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, and several other major American cities as punishment for opposing Carpathia. After the war, America's citizens, along with the citizens of the United Great Britain States as well as Egypt, were taxed by the GC even more than the rest of the world. In addition to that, Nicolae Carpathia ordered that the Alaskan oil fields be appropriated by the Global Community. It is very likely that the GC had seized the entire Strategic Petroleum Reserve in order to make the former United States more dependent on the New World Order.
