The Trumpet Judgments, as mentioned in Revelation chapters 8 and 9, took place in the 21 months following the Seal Judgments in the Left Behind series.
- The first Trumpet Judgment was fire and hail mixed with blood that fell from the sky, causing a third of all trees and all forms of vegetation to be burned up. How this affected food production with the use of the synthetic fertilizer formula is not known. This took place in Soul Harvest.
- The second Trumpet Judgment was a burning mountain that fell from space into the ocean, causing a third of the seas to turn to blood and destroying a third of all ships in the sea, including a cruise liner that was left without power about a hundred miles from the impact zone. This took place in Soul Harvest.
- The third Trumpet Judgment was a "star" that looked like rotten wood (called Wormwood) that also fell from space, but vaporized as it entered the Earth's atmosphere, causing a third of all fresh water springs to be bitter and deadly to drink. This took place in Soul Harvest
- The fourth Trumpet Judgment was the sun being struck so that it could only generate two thirds of its heat and light toward the earth; it also affected the moon and the stars, indicating that the issue is atmospheric rather than cosmological. This took place in Apollyon.
- "Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound!" (Rev 9:13)
- The fifth Trumpet Judgment, called the first woe, was the unleashing of locust creatures upon those that didn't have the Seal of God on their foreheads (i.e., nonbelievers), to torture them for five months with painful stings that would cause their victims to desire death but not be able to kill themselves. This effect lasted five months for the victims. This took place in Apollyon.
- The sixth Trumpet Judgment, called the second woe, was the unleashing of 200 million horsemen upon the nonbelievers to kill one-third of the remaining world's population. Those who had the seal of God on their foreheads were able to see the horsemen, but those who didn't have the seal couldn't. This took place in Assassins.
- The seventh Trumpet Judgment, called the third woe, didn't take place until around Glorious Appearing.
Trivia
- John Preston was the only Young Tribulation Force member that died as a result of one of the Trumpet Judgments.
- Carl Meninger would have been affected by the second and fifth Trumpet Judgments if Young Tribulation Force members had not intervened. John Preston gave Carl his seat on the submarine when The Peacekeeper One was destroyed in Trumpet Judgment #2. Mark Eisman shoved Carl into a car and prayed with him to become a believer when the locusts came close to stinging the latter in Trumpet Judgment #5.
- Charlie was spared from the worst effects of the third and fifth Trumpet Judgments without having the mark of the believer. He drank water that contained wormwood during Trumpet Judgment #3 and didn't die, even though he was sick for a short while. A locust approached him during Trumpet Judgment #5 but didn't bite him.
- Conrad Graham invented a baseball-themed game involving the locusts from Trumpet Judgment #5. Darrion Stahley and Charlie also participated in this game.
- In Terror in the Stadium, Felicia dies from drinking wormwood in the Trumpet Judgment #3. In the Dramatic Audio presentation, Larry Wilcox dies in her place.
