Major Stockton Evers was an officer in the militia loyal to the President of the United States and against Global Community's takeover of the United States. He only appeared in Death Strike. Mark Eisman was a member of the militia and invited Judd Thompson Jr. and Vicki Byrne to observe one of their military exercises in the woods in Wisconsin. Judd and Vicki wanted to go to show Mark how silly and futile militarily resisting Nicolae Carpathia would be, since according to the dispensationalist interpretation of the Bible, the Bible had prophesied that the Antichrist would rule the world for seven years and he could not be thwarted except when Jesus returns to defeat him.
During the exercise, a few hundred men dressed in military fatigues were present, with few women there. Major Evers was displeased with Mark Eisman when Evers noted that Mark brought Vicki and Judd along, since he told them that this is a sensitive meeting. Mark Eisman introduced Judd as the man who stood up to Leon Fortunato on television when he give his speech during the graduation of Nicolae Carpathia High School as the class salutatorian. Mark told Evers that he can trust Judd and Vicki since Mark would trust his life to them. Evers admonished Mark, saying that he should check with Evers the next time he intends to bring someone along to their exercises.
While they were to simulate a "battle strike", the squads moved through the woods at a brisk pace. One hour into the exercise, Global Community helicopters appeared, which loudly instructed them to surrender by lying on the ground with their hands over their heads. The Global Community choppers fired at the assembled with machine guns. They eluded the Global Community by going into a ravine. During the skirmish, the Global Community had shot four militia members. After the attack, Major Evers told Mark, Vicki and Judd to leave and make it back to their vehicle.
Major Evers told them that he knew that the Global Community was on to them, but he tried to turn this to the militia's advantage by allowing the exercise to the discovered and observed by the Global Community. The assembly was a decoy intended to make the Global Community become overconfident. He rationalized this, saying that the Global Community would find a "couple hundred guys doing push-ups in the woods", thinking that they are just "small potatoes". In the mean time, the militia would plan a major assault against the Global Community, using a few nuclear weapons they had kept from Carpathia's confiscation of them from the militaries that possessed them before the Rapture.
After the incident, Mark was convinced that he was doing the right thing, while Judd and Vicki still thought that Mark's involvement with the militia was foolhardy. After the Global Community's attack on the militia's stockpile of weapons during the onset of World War III, Judd and John Preston found Mark's truck parked at a convenience store. He was lying in the seat, dressed in battle fatigues, and had his face painted green and red. Mark conceded that Judd was right about his involvement in the militia. He said that the soldiers were all gone. Mark told them that Major Evers had to have known that the Global Community was going to launch a preemptive attack, so Evers sent the younger guys out before the attack.
Stockton Evers is described as a well-built man with close-cropped hair. He told Vicki and Judd that he knew that they were religious types who thought Carpathia was the Antichrist, but that did not matter to Major Evers. Evers was only concerned that the Global Community had taken "our country from us".
