Rehema was a female guard assigned to Rayford Steele when he was captured and taken into custody by The Only Light sect in Osaze in Kingdom Come. She was an unbeliever whom Rayford reasoned with, eventually leaving with Rayford and other captives of The Only Light when the Angel Anis came to release Rayford.

She said that she is 90 years old when it was 93 years into the Millennium. Even though The Only Light's doctrine is that the God of the Bible does not exist, Rehema admits to Rayford that she believes God exists, but she does not like Him much, feeling resentment when her disbelieving friends and relatives die, right on schedule, when they turn 100.

She had a son, aged four as of Millennial Year 93, who was left at a TOL day care center and whom she later picked up at the time of the rescue. (It is unknown if she was using an institution operated by The Other Light or whether The Only Light operated their own day care centers.) She became a believer in Christ.

Trivia[]

Her name means "merciful" or "caring" in the Semitic languages. Indeed, Rayford Steele even told Rehema that her name means "compassionate" when she loosened his handcuffs. Muslims say Surah al-Fatihah for the start of every rakat in Salah: "Bismillah, ar-rahman, ar-raheem," although some schools of jurisprudence might omit "bismillah" during the rakat, since it is judged not to be a part of the Surah.
