Perryn Madeleine was a Tribulation martyr living in France. He was executed by Z-Van at one of his concerts for refusing the mark of Carpathia. He is the son of Jacques Madeleine.

Biography[]

After the Rapture[]

He became a believer when his father provided materials that argued that the disappearances were the result of Jesus returning for his followers and articulated the Christian plan of salvation. He then prayed for salvation with his mother and father.

His family relocated to a chateau on the outskirts of Paris after the Rapture. His father, Jacques, went to that chateau as a summer camp that was run by Christians. The owners of the chateau were raptured. Perryn had a vision for the chateau to be a place where believers from all over the world can come there to learn, be refreshed, and go out energized. Unfortunately, Perryn did not live to see the chateau benefit Judd Thompson Jr., Lionel Washington, and Westin Jakes in that fashion.

After the Wrath of the Lamb earthquake, Perryn showed up at an old woman's house whose roof and garage was damaged. Perryn offered to repair it if he was afforded the opportunity to tell her something. He refused any other compensation. In two days, Perryn completed the repairs, and when Perryn evangelized to her, the woman became irate and she chased him away, but not before Perryn told her some prophesied events that were about to unfold. When those events occurred, she became convinced and a believer. She then lived with Jacques and Perryn in the chateau that they relocated to and recounted this story to Judd and Lionel as a way of memorializing Perryn after they learned about his death. Others then told their stories of how they met Perryn.

Z-Van arrived in Paris to perform a concert where he intends to execute his former pilot, Westin Jakes, on stage with the loyalty enforcement facilitator for his expected refusal to take the mark of Carpathia. Judd Thompson Jr, a stowaway on The Four Horseman's flight to Paris, was able to rescue Westin Jakes before Z-Van's personnel were going to force him on stage. While Z-Van was upset when Westin Jakes escaped, Z-Van was undeterred and wanted the on-stage spectacle of a person making the decision to receive the mark or be executed with the guillotine. Z-Van called the audience to find people who were without the mark of loyalty. Perryn Madeleline was among the eighteen people discovered there without the mark. While the other seventeen individuals received the mark of loyalty, Perryn adamantly refused and was executed, not before he implored those watching the broadcast without Carpathia's mark not to take it, to ask God to forgive them, and to visit Tsion Ben-Judah's website.

Before he went to The Four Horsemen concert, someone at the chateau talked with Perryn. He recounted that Perryn believed that God had something at the concert that He wanted Perryn to do.

In a press conference about the broadcast of Perryn's execution, Leon Fortunato expressed his support for Z-Van's actions. Leon Fortunato also said Nicolae Carpathia saw a recording of the broadcast of the decapitation and that he was "saddened" by the stubbornness of Perryn, but he supported the action Z-Van had taken and wanted more of those types of events.

Personality[]

His father says Perryn has a heart for the youth. Perryn became sullen when he heard that many young people had committed suicide after the rapture and observed that many youth had fallen for Nicolae Carpathia's false message of peace and tranquility. He was at The Four Horsemen concert to evangelize to those who have not yet received the mark of loyalty. Before Perryn was executed on stage and when Jacques Madeleine found Judd, Lionel, and Westin, Jacques said to them that his son was "full of zeal" and that he would be bring home a believer this evening. Jacques thought Perryn would be pleasantly surprised that he would bring home three. Even when he was discovered without the mark, he availed himself of his last opportunity to evangelize and dissuade people from taking Carpathia's mark. His father described him as the most aggressive soul-winner among the group.

Jacques complemented Judd, saying that he sensed the same spirit in him and his friends that was in his son. Jacques thought that God had sent Judd to complete the work his son began and suggested that Judd consider staying until Perryn vision was complete.

He is also a talented artist, and as he grew older, his drawings and paintings became dour, with no one smiling in them. After he became a believer, one of his paintings was a cross on a hill where the background was bleak with dead foliage, but in the shadow of the cross, plants, flowers, and trees flourished and animal life abounded. In the corner of that painting, there was a frightening dragon terrorizing people. The painting had John 10:10 written on it. Apparently, the painting's juxtaposition of the cross and the dragon illustrates Jesus' power and will to give life, while the dragon is the thief whose aim is to kill and destroy.

Before the rapture, Perryn was distant from his parents in family photographs, but his later pictures showed him with his family, embracing them and smiling.

To console others who experienced hardship or tragedy, he loved to share 2 Corinthians 4:8-18. After Perryn died, his mother cited this verse while Perryn's family and friends were grieving his death.
