Mr. Wong is a minor character in the Left Behind series. He is the father of Chang Wong and Ming Woo, and Mrs. Wong's husband. Mr. Wong was responsible for recommending his son to Nicolae Carpathia so that he would work in New Babylon as part of the computer division previously headed by David Hassid.

Biography[]

After the Rapture[]

Mr. Wong pressured his own son into taking the "mark of loyalty". He convinced Walter Moon to get a sedative for Chang because Mr. Wong said that Chang was only averse to needles. Moon ironically noted that the tranquilizer also comes in the form of an injection with a hypodermic needle. Mr. Wong injected Chang with the sedative. Under a drug-induced stupor, Chang then had the biochip inserted and the tattoo applied to his forehead.

In Breakout!, Chang told Judd Thompson Jr. that Mr. Wong intended to take the mark while he and his wife were in New Babylon, but he became upset at the media spectacle when Z-Van received the mark of loyalty, as Z-Van was the first civilian to receive it. Chang said that his father now intends to take the mark when they return home to China.

After Mr. Wong returned to China, Chang said his father was disgusted with what had happened in Jerusalem. His wife visited Tsion Ben-Judah's website and wondered how Ben-Judah could predict things so accurately. However, when Leon Fortunato as Most High Reverend Father of Carpathianism forced everyone to take the "mark of loyalty" or be put to death, Mr. and Mrs. Wong both resolved that they would live as fugitives, worshiping the living God. In War of the Dragon, Chang reported that Mr. Wong had been disgusted with what Carpathia had done in Jerusalem. Mr. Wong was nearly suicidal for forcing Chang to receive the mark, but his wife assuaged him, saying that Chang was already sealed by God. Mr. Wong was later executed for his failure to take the mark.
