Mr. Marid was the father of Qasim Marid, one of the members of the The Other Light. He was mentioned by Qasim during his interview with Raymie Steele when he tried to join the Millennium Force. Qasim was able to repeat the phrase "seen my need" to refer to the Christian doctrine of recognizing that one is a sinner before God and that one needs a savior to be reconciled to God because one's actions are insufficient for being righteous before God.
