A martyr is one who is willing to die for what he or she believes in. Those who are Christians that are martyred for their faith shall be rewarded with a crown of life.
Throughout the Left Behind books, there were Christians who were martyred for their faith by the Global Community and by the unbelieving citizenry. At the glorious appearing of Jesus Christ, those "Tribulation saints" were brought back to life and were honored by Jesus Himself.
In Kingdom Come, there were people in the first generation of The Other Light that died who were seen as martyrs, believing that Satan was going to win against God and Jesus Christ and that they were going to be resurrected in victory, but unfortunately for its adherents their intended goal was never realized.
