Biography[]

After the Rapture[]

She sent Vicki Byrne to Northside Detention Center. When Vicki asked about the whereabouts of Mrs. Waltonen a few months after Judd Thompson Jr. delivered his incendiary graduation speech, Mrs. Goodwin informed Vicki that Mrs. Waltonen and Coach Greg Handlesman were at a re-education facility.

She complemented Vicki, saying that she had more direction and fortitude that the people who have been trying to "help" her. She was a varsity squad cheerleader in high school, the top of her class academically, and volunteered for social organizations. She then went to college to teach disable children, and she took a job in social services when she realized that they needed personnel. Candace said that she "cornered the market on helping people" by going overseas to help the starving, working at soup kitchens, and taking people into her home to give them a place to say. But she never felt accepted by God.

Candace Goodwin was impressed when Vicki spoke of her faith that she did not talk about living up to rules and regulations because that defied her expectations on religion. She said that Vicki simply does her best and hope. Candace indicated that she was receptive to Christianity, but she wanted assurance that God accepts her efforts. Vicki replied that Biblical prophecy is coming through all around us, so that provides credence that whatever God says will be fulfilled.

Vicki evangelized to her, saying that if you are able to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). She then raised the issue that all the good that she had been doing was worthless, but Vicki responded saying because God is so holy, He has a high standard that no one could attain, but that Jesus' incarnation fulfilled that standard. Vicki used the metaphor of people being required to jump to the moon. Some people would jump really high, while others would not even try, but no one would be able to jump to the moon. Hence, like jumping to the moon, one's good deeds are unable to fulfill God's standards and approach His holiness. Candace then pointed out that if one's good deeds does not avail one in reconciling with God then there is no incentive to performing good deeds. Vicki replied that one would be impelled to serve God with everything she had because a saved person appreciates that God has given His life for her and loves God in response. Vicki then led her in the sinner's prayer, and Candace was saved, saying "amen" at the conclusion of the prayer. She later was able to defend Vicki from Mrs. Jenness from being implicated with the distribution of the Underground newspaper.

It is unknown what happened to her. She may have been killed in the Wrath Of The Lamb earthquake, martyred during the imposition of the mark of loyalty, or survived to the Glorious Appearing.
